Matching optimized student teams is a common pain point for experiential learning programs and larger programs can spend 10-20 hours (or more!) doing this manually. This product update includes EduSourced Smart Match 2 to condense hours of matchmaking work into a few minutes! This feature is deeply flexible since every EL course or program builds their teams differently. Set the characteristics that matter to you for building great teams, set their priority level and run the matching.
This feature works with our integrated project bidding feature so you can collect student info in a single step to power your matchmaking.
What is EduSourced Smart Match?
Smart Match 2 is deterministic team and project matching system that can criteria you would like to matchmake against. Smart Match can use any combination of student information you import or collect directly from students via bidding. Students can be allocated against their criteria, (e.g. one high GPA student per team) matched for similar characteristics (e.g. common availability) and diverse characteristics (e.g. team gender diversity). You can account for teammate preferences, project preferences and even set unique per-project student requirements if needed.
In addition to any custom criteria you may set, Smart Match comes with a question bank including common elements like:
- Project preferences
- Teammate preferences
- Teammate avoidances
- Personality type
- Availability
- GPA
How does Smart Match work?
Collect Student Information Needed for Matching
Smart Match is integrated with the EduSourced bidding feature to conveniently collect project preferences and any other data needed directly from students. EduSourced also supports student information import from both the Learning Management System and CSV import. All of these data sources can be used by Smart Match to build optimal teams in minutes.
Set your Paramaters and Weightings
Every matching element can be weighted for importance, allowing faculty to dial in matching needs. The proposed team matching can be manually adjusted, accepted, or reset altogether before finalizing. Students are only added to projects and notified when teams are finalized, allowing for flexibility and control.
EduSourced makes it easy to collect or import relevant student data, set your preferences for team matching and complete it with a click. Hours of time done in minutes. Fill out the form below for a live demo.
